Attollo Scholars Take On The Big Apple
Attollo spent a jam-packed 72 hours on the New York City college tour, visiting universities in the greater tri-state area along the way. Their first stop was Kutztown University, a renowned institution known for its study abroad programs. The scholars learned about its unique curriculum there and marveled at its state-of-the-art campus facilities. They then stopped at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, a 370-acre university known for its diverse student body and sustainable campus facilities.
Following the insightful tours, the scholars ventured to New York, culminating the day with a professional development dinner in the bustling heart of the city, Times Square. Hosted at Tony Di Napoli’s, the students had the invaluable opportunity to connect with recent graduates from Cornell University and professionals in the medical, private equity, and media sectors.
The guests detailed their stories and connected with the scholars while conversing over the most delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. The students were particularly grateful for the valuable insights on professional networking while living in a bustling city. The most cherished part of the experience was the they received about university life.
The students were fully immersed in the city's vibrant energy, feeling the excitement of New York, as the second day consisted of the Columbia University tour. Students relished in the city-based campus and world-renowned research curriculum the college has to offer. Along with an action-packed WNBA Game where scholars got to witness the New York Liberty team take the win against the Connecticut Suns, the scholars had a world of entertainment at their fingertips.
Jashton Best, an Attollo Creative Intern, said, “New York was so lively. We got very immersed in the city; it felt like a mini vacation.”
The scholars spent the remainder of day two at Squarespace headquarters, where they toured the website-building company and asked questions to a panel of employees who shared wisdom on asking for help and reaching out to people in their network.
From subway rides to visiting the Barclays Center, the scholars spent an invigorating three days in a city where they could envision themselves spending the next four years where they could feel a strong sense of belonging and connection.
