Attollo's California Quest: Campus Tours, Professional Growth, and Cultural Enrichment
Attollo goes across the country! A group of ambitious students embarked on a journey across the state, exploring some of the finest educational institutions and forging even stronger bonds with each other. This educational adventure was more than just a series of campus tours; it was a unique opportunity for students to envision their futures, engage in professional development, and immerse themselves in the rich cultural and academic environment of California's top universities.
The California group visited a diverse range of colleges, each offering a distinct experience and perspective on higher education. Their itinerary included the University of San Francisco, Occidental College, University of California Berkeley, University of Southern California, University of California Los Angeles, Pomona College, and Stanford University. At each institution, students were greeted with open arms, eager to showcase their academic programs, campus life, and unique offerings. The tours were nothing short of inspiring, with students eagerly absorbing information and asking insightful questions about their potential future homes.
Tazaiel Whitfield, an Attollo programming intern, said, “This tour was absolutely beautiful. I loved every second of it and would easily do it again. From the students, to the colleges, to the cities, Cali treated us well.”
In addition to touring, students cultivated opportunities for professional development at Stanford University and marketing facilities in Los Angeles. Thanks to one of our former Attollo Fellows, Kyle, students were immersed in a beneficial skills-development workshop on Stanford’s campus. Being able to partake in this opportunity offered insights into career planning and the importance of professional skills. The students left Stanford with a newfound sense of confidence and clarity about their career goals.
The journey didn't stop there. In Los Angeles, the group toured state-of-the-art marketing facilities, gaining firsthand knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in the field. This experience was particularly beneficial for those interested in pursuing careers in marketing, communications, and media. The students saw the practical applications of their studies and imagined their future careers in a dynamic and ever-evolving industry.
Alex Shepler, Attollo's Chief Marketing Officer, said “It was so exciting to see all the scholars explore both academic and career opportunities. The students asked great questions about career pathways and the various aspects of the marketing and communication industries. They had great curiosity and insight which will serve them extremely well as they prepare for life in college!”
Cultural enrichment was also a key component of the trip. A visit to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art provided the students with a deeper appreciation for the arts and the role of creativity in society. This experience underscored the importance of a well-rounded education, where academic pursuits are complemented by cultural and artistic exploration.
Scholars reflected on the incredible journey they have undertaken. They have explored some of the greatest schools in the state, developed valuable professional skills, and built lasting relationships with their peers. This trip has not only broadened their horizons but also reinforced the importance of community, education, and personal growth.
